You already know the conversations you’re going to collapse in before you walk into the room.

You know which of your partner’s expressions will tighten your chest. Which of your mother’s questions will send you underground for the rest of the day. Which of your own ideas will die in your throat before you say them out loud.

You know the feeling of walking away from a conversation knowing you didn’t actually say the thing.

You know what it’s like to feel resistance rise in your body about something — posting the thing, making the call, having the conversation — and tell yourself my body is saying no, and stop. Every time.

None of this is news to you. You can name every one of these patterns in clinical language. You’ve probably read more books about them than your own therapist has.

And you’re still doing them.

Here is what no one has told you.

You’re not stuck because you haven’t learned enough. You’re stuck because something your body learned a long time ago is making decisions for you in the moments that matter, and you never consciously agreed to let it.

More reading won’t fix this. More therapy won’t fix this. More “listening to your body” will make it worse.

What you need is a way to tell, in real time, the difference between your nervous system telling you something true and your nervous system telling you something it learned to believe a long time ago, before you had any choice in the matter.

That’s what this workshop teaches.

This Isn’t Polyvagal Theory

I taught polyvagal theory for five years. I still think it has value. But the ladder model gave people a vocabulary for naming their states without giving them anything useful to do about them. You end up with a language for your symptoms and no better access to your actual life.

So I built something different. It came from several years of working with nearly a thousand nervous systems, not from a textbook. It’s non-hierarchical. It’s behaviorally accurate. And it does the thing polyvagal doesn’t do: it gives your body an actual instrument for discerning, in the moment, whether what you’re feeling is information about now or information about then.

Once you have that instrument, you can’t unsee it. You will never again feel a contraction in your body and treat it as gospel.

What You’ll Be Able to Do After

Catch yourself in the moment your old pattern would have chosen for you — before it chooses.

Tell the difference between a feeling that’s responding to what’s actually in front of you and a feeling that’s responding to something that happened in 1997.

Stop mistaking avoidance for intuition, contraction for wisdom, and resistance for a boundary your body is setting.

Notice, under pressure, the specific place where your truth would normally disappear — and have something to do instead of disappearing.

Speak in a way you haven’t been able to speak. To the people you haven’t been able to speak to.

Why This Is Really About Authenticity

Understanding your nervous system was never the point. The point is being able to be yourself in front of another person.

Most nervous system work stops at regulation. It teaches you to name your states, widen your window of tolerance, maybe take the edge off. What it doesn’t teach you is how to stop letting your body’s oldest habits overrule what is true for you the minute the stakes go up.

Your nervous system’s job is to keep you alive. That’s a real job and it did it well. But it’s not your authority. It’s not the thing that gets to decide what you do next. You are.

The work of this workshop is teaching your body to stop confusing what’s familiar with what’s safe, and to start making room for the version of you that’s been waiting behind the pattern.

10 Things I’ve Learned in Nearly 1,000 Nervous Systems

Not from a textbook. From the people sitting across from me.

1. Nervous systems heal in slowness. “Fast” healing skips integration.

2. Your nervous system adapts at the rate it believes is safe. Relief is not resolution.

3. The goal of regulation is not “calm.” Sometimes the most regulated thing your body can do is get loud, cry, shake, or say no.

4. Nervous systems don’t heal in isolation. Full healing necessarily includes another person’s nervous system.

5. You will not heal your nervous system with diet and supplements.

6. Having a wide range of feelings across a day is normal, not pathological.

7. Your nervous system is never “stuck.” It’s patterned.

8. A triggered nervous system is not a truthful storyteller.

9. Symptoms are information. Your body doesn’t do anything randomly.

10. Your nervous system cannot heal in the same environment that made it sick.

This Workshop Is For You If

You’ve done the work. Therapy. Books. Podcasts. Maybe somatic work. You can name your attachment style and your trigger list, and you are still doing the thing you’ve been trying to stop doing.

You can explain your patterns after the fact but can’t interrupt them in the moment.

You’ve been told to listen to your body and you do. And you are starting to suspect that your body is not always telling you the truth.

You want more than more language. You want to live differently.

This Is Not For You If

You want a scientific lecture on the autonomic nervous system. You want tips and hacks for calming down faster. You want someone to tell you that whatever you’re already doing is correct.

FAQ

Is this for beginners?
Beginners are welcome, but this will hit hardest for women who have already done a lot of the work and can’t figure out why they still aren’t living the way they want to.

Is there actual practice, or is this all teaching?
Both. Teaching and somatic experience. You will be in your body, not just your head.

Is this the same as your old Nervous System 101 workshop?
No. This replaces NS101 entirely. NS101 was more academic. This goes further and lands differently.

Is this standalone or part of something larger?
Standalone. It also serves as the entry point to Feel Without Fear for people who want deeper work afterward, but you don’t have to want that to come.

What if I can’t attend live?
Your purchase includes lifetime replay. That said, being in the room matters, especially for the somatic portion and the live Q&A.

I’ve read about polyvagal theory. Will I be able to follow this?
Yes. I’ll give you everything you need as we go. No prior knowledge required.

Where This Leads

Your Dynamic Nervous System is the foundation. It gives you the instrument.

For women who want to go deeper — into trauma integration, relational work, and learning to stay with themselves in the moments they’d normally cave — that’s Feel Without Fear. Four months. Eight workshops. Six group coaching calls. A live container where the work becomes lived rather than merely understood.

This workshop is the front door. You don’t have to walk through the next one to benefit from this one. Come. Let it land. The rest will be there if you want it.
